We have developed this Common Core aligned, complete Dinosaur Unit with CLOSE Reading passages, research report, text dependent questions, and essential questions that contains everything needed to teach a rigorous unit on the dinosaurs. Original CLOSE Reading nonfiction passages were created to help teach your students about dinosaurs. CLOSE reading instructions and an anchor chart are included to help you incorporate this skill into your teaching. There are text dependent questions aligned with each passage, a set of vocabulary cards with definitions to accompany each nonfiction text, a research report, Common Core Essential Questions, performance tasks, and RAFTS. A variety of other graphic organizers and activities are included. This unit emphasizes "Depth of Knowledge" (D.O.K.) throughout.
We do encourage you to supplement with any other books, videos, and websites that you already use; they will blend nicely with our CLOSE reading passages. You can use this unit in its entirety, or “pick and choose” the components to meet the needs of your students.

Google Drive Earth Science- Going Paperless? These interactive Google slides contain vocabulary and writing activities perfect Chromebooks, HP Streams, and other devices in a 1:1 classroom. Aligns with Holt McDougal's (HMH) textbook chapter 3.
"Models of the Earth"- Students will use their devices to review, practice, apply or assess vocabulary words in your Earth Science class. They will take vocabulary and concepts and apply what they've learned, or "show what they know".
Here are the terms covered in this product:
parallel - lateral - meridian - longitude - remote sensing - map projection - legend - scale - isogram - topography - elevation - contour line - relief
You can use these templates in their entirety, or “pick and choose” the exercises you wish to use and tailor it to your students’ needs. This package contains the following vocabulary exercises:
1. Circle the Incorrect Term: Students will circle the incorrect term out of a list of 4 and then explain why the term does not belong.
2. Matching: Students will match the term with the correct definition.INCLUDES MOVABLE PIECES!
3. Mapping the Earth Exercise: Students will find the latitude and longitude of major cities around the world, name the country in which they are located, and then locate each city on a map of the world.
4. Definition - Sentence - Picture: For each term students will give the definition, use each term in a sentence, and insert a picture (actual picture or example).
5. How are they Related?: Students will tell how a pair of words are related to each other.

Amphibian Research Report for Elementary Grades
We have developed this report template and additional worksheets, organizers, tools and forms to use for your students to create, develop, write, edit, illustrate, present, and assess your students’ Amphibian research report. This report (or performance task) is also designed to not only to learn and explain the new information, but answer some higher level thinking questions (Common Core Essential Questions) to apply the knowledge they have learned.
This report package is designed to have your students research, write about, and illustrate amphibians to complete this report.
A simple rubric and student checklist is included. You can also add to this report by asking your students to do a model or large poster on amphibians as well.
